In a day and age where people believe it is their right to have access to you all hours of the day via cell-phones and e-mail it is definitely hard to find alone time. I don't think anyone ever really does. So here's the deal. Take the challenge.
For the next seven days devote between 15-30 minutes to spend alone;no phone, noise or interruptions. Get up a little early or find sometime during the day where you can just take a break and be alone.
Find a cozy spot, maybe light some candles, and just be still. It is so important to take some time each day to organize your thoughts, just sit by yourself and relax. Reenergize, reorganize and reviatlize yourself. Trust me, you'll have a much better day!

Stress Relief Anyone?
Since I am a fast-paced hyperactive type of person I tend to love doing high-impact, high-cardio workouts. Although yoga and Pilate's became popular in recent years because of their relaxation techniques, I've always viewed exercises like those as a waist of my time. To the contrary though I decided to go to a yoga class, being that I was in an ultra stressed mood and needed something to calm me down quick.
Actually, it was surprising how good it really did make me feel . Stretching out every part of your body really does relieve tension and stress. I actually felt more focused and relaxed. Surprise, surprise,I think I'm actually becoming a yoga fan! Try it, you never know it just may suprise you as well.
(There are a lot of local places in the Fresno area that offer cheap introductory rates. Try a few different kinds out to see what benefits you the most before signing up.)

Busy girl? Try Intervals
We're all on the go 24/7 these days, without a whole lot of time to dedicate to 2 hour workouts five days a week. Well there is definitely a great alternative to getting in shape without having to live at the gym. Try interval training.
All you have to do is set aside about 30 minutes, four days a week .
Here is the plan: jog 3 min, sit-ups 30 sec, lunges 30sec, push-ups 30 sec. Repeat five times.
There you have it. A short work out that gets your heart rate up, burns calories and tones every part of the body. Make sure to stretch a few minutes afterwards.

Great Dessert without the calories
Alright so like most girls I tend to favor anything sweet; ice-cream and cookies being my favorite. Unfortunately eating too much of these is bound to make me gain a few pounds. Lately my room mates and I have been making a really tasty treat that will definitely satisfy that sweet tooth without outrageous calories.
The Recipe
Toss whatever fruit you like in a big bowl. (It's good to combine a mixture of textures and flavors so that the salad isn't too sweet or sour.) Make one package of sugar-free, fat-free pudding . (vanilla and cheesecake are really good.) Then mix the pudding and fruit together and let set in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Then take out and enjoy. You can also add reduced-fat Grahm crackers, and lower calorie versions of whip cream and cool whip. There you have it! A tasty dessert without packing on the pounds!

Obsession; Is it really worth it?
Alright so one can say I am a bit of an expert when it comes to exercising/dieting. I've done the seven day cabbage soup diet, went through the only eat fruits and vegetables phase and of course I ate only six small meals a day for quite awhile. I've been an avid runner,(just finished my first marathon) roller bladder, aerobics attendee as well as own quite a collection of yoga, kick boxing and Pilate at home videos.
But is weighing yourself everyday and obsessing over every calorie and pound really worth it? Lately I've given up on the overly intense dieting and exercise regime. Really I've found out I'm a lot happier, healthier and relaxed. (Believe it or not, my belly has not bulged out 10 inches and I can still fit into my skinny jeans, even though I've incorporated cookies into my diet.)
So how about ditching the super strict dieting and exercising. Take a walk, ride your bike, do sit-ups;but not because you have to, but because it really is fun. (And,have a cookie,or two, because it's worth it!)
